Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Milton, Ontario location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging with pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Obtained after completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, this position upholds our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales of merchandise and services to hit targets, ensure salon sanitation per checklists, and respond to pet health issues by transporting to vets if needed. Assist other departments and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, computer proficiency, strong communication, organizational abilities, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays.
