Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Mira Loma, California, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, maintain meticulous salon cleanliness, and drive sales. Ensure humane conditions, respond to pet health issues, and assist across departments as needed while upholding company policies.
Daily Operations
- Greet clients, handle reservations, check-ins, and rebookings
- Perform maintenance and end-of-day cleaning per checklists
- Conduct reminder calls and consult on services
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must handle physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in wet, noisy environments with pet hair. Flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays essential.
