Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Mississauga, Ontario location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services like bathing, brushing, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, ensure humane pet conditions, and promote sales to hit targets. Assist with sick/injured pets and support other store departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, stand, stoop, and handle pets safely. Computer proficiency required.

Physical Demands

Role involves standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), reaching, stooping, and depth perception for safe pet handling.
