Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role provides hands-on training from industry-leading professionals. After completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll deliver exceptional salon services under supervision while learning safe grooming techniques and pet parent engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls.
- Recommend wellness solutions and promote services/merchandise to drive salon sales.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions daily.
- Ensure pet safety, respond to health issues, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; must pass PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet hair-filled environment.
