Role Overview
Our Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide top-tier salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences. This entry-level position is perfect for animal lovers eager to build grooming expertise while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales, and drive salon productivity.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Assist with sick/injured pets and collaborate across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a dynamic, pet-filled setting. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
