Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while contributing to store cleanliness and sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Recommend wellness solutions, promote salon sales, uphold cleanliness standards, and assist with sick/injured pets. Flexibility to support other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, and ability to handle pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and ensuring pet safety in a fast-paced salon environment. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
