Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. Located in Monrovia, California, you'll engage pet parents and contribute to store cleanliness and sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Recommend wellness solutions, promote services to drive salon sales, and maintain impeccable salon hygiene. Assist with sick/injured pets and support other departments as needed. Follow all company policies for a safe, humane environment.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, and proficiency in computer applications. Strong communication, organizational abilities, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays required. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in a moderate-noise, pet hair-filled salon.
