Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Moore, Oklahoma, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in providing best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales of merchandise and services to hit targets, uphold salon cleanliness, and respond immediately to pet health issues. Assist other departments as needed and embody company values.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply); must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and working in a pet hair-filled, moderately noisy environment with reasonable accommodations available.
