Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Located in Mooresville, North Carolina, this position offers a dynamic start in pet care with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care while supervised.
• Develop safe technical skills meeting company standards and recommend wellness solutions.
• Handle pet parent experiences via in-person, phone, and register interactions, including reservations and rebooking.
• Maintain salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane conditions for all pets.
• Promote sales opportunities and assist in other store departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
