Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Mount Hope, West Virginia, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents, provide best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a skilled Pet Stylist.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, recommend wellness solutions, and drive salon sales. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, ensure humane pet conditions, and assist with sick/injured pet protocols. Promote merchandise, handle check-ins/outs, and support store operations as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organizational prowess, communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, work in wet/hairy environments with moderate noise. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
