Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, you'll train under experienced Pet Stylists, mastering industry-leading grooming techniques through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on delivering exceptional salon services, ensuring pet safety, and building lasting relationships with pet parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, provide full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote salon sales, and upsell merchandise to meet targets.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane conditions for all pets.
- Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
PetSmart seeks passionate individuals with prior grooming experience (preferred; technical exam may apply). Key qualifications include PetSmart Salon Academy completion, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, strong communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment.
