Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe technical grooming skills while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Uphold our vision of best-in-class services, store cleanliness, and pet safety.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, and keep the salon spotless. Respond to pet health issues, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and proficiency in computer applications. Strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment required.
