Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Nashville, Tennessee, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Ideal for animal lovers eager to launch a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, ensure humane conditions, and promote sales to hit targets. Assist with pet health issues and support other store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred with possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Requires flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, composure under pressure, and proficiency in computers. Strong communication, organization, and attention to pet safety are essential.
