Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming skills while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Located in New Orleans, Louisiana, you'll contribute to store cleanliness, pet safety, and sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote salon sales, recommend products, and uphold the highest cleanliness and humane conditions. Assist with sick/injured pets and other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must handle physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair. Flexible schedule for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
