Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role at our North Augusta, SC location provides hands-on training from industry-leading professionals. After completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll deliver exceptional salon services under supervision, ensuring pet safety and outstanding pet parent experiences while contributing to store goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell services/merchandise.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and record-keeping.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Drive salon sales and productivity while assisting other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have prior grooming experience (technical exam may apply) and have completed PetSmart’s Salon Academy. Key traits include composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, physical stamina for lifting 50+ lbs, and strong communication/organizational skills. Computer proficiency required.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and handle physical demands (experience)

- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-in/out, and client records
