Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in North Little Rock, Arkansas, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a skilled Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, merchandise, and services to boost sales and pet health.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, humane conditions, and immediate action for sick/injured pets.
- Assist in other departments, follow policies, and contribute to store metrics.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and lifting up to 50+ lbs. Strong organization, communication, and attention to safety required. Work environment involves moderate noise, wet areas, pet hair, and physical demands like standing, stooping, and reaching.
