Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in North Olmsted, Ohio, you'll train under experienced Pet Stylists, mastering industry-leading grooming techniques through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on delivering exceptional salon services while ensuring pet safety and outstanding pet parent experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls while maintaining accurate client records.
- Promote salon sales by recommending merchandise, services, and wellness solutions to meet pet needs.
- Uphold salon cleanliness and humane conditions through daily maintenance and end-of-day checklists.
- Monitor pet health, respond to emergencies by transporting to vets if needed, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational prowess, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet hair environment.
