Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Norwalk, Connecticut, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, and drive sales. Ensure humane conditions, respond to pet health issues, and assist across departments as needed while upholding company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling under pressure, strong communication, organizational prowess, computer proficiency, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
