Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in O'Fallon, Missouri, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Ideal for animal lovers eager to launch a rewarding career in pet care.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to meet targets, and ensure humane pet conditions. Assist other departments and respond swiftly to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, strong communication, and organizational prowess. Proficiency in computers, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment required.
