Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our expert Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional customer experiences. Ideal for animal lovers eager to launch a grooming career.

Key Responsibilities

• Under supervision, execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and maintain client records.
• Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise to drive salon sales and meet targets.
• Uphold salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and ensure humane conditions for all pets.
• Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle pets safely under pressure.
