Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Oxford, Alabama, you'll train under experienced Pet Stylists, mastering industry-leading grooming techniques through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on delivering exceptional salon services while prioritizing pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, provide full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote merchandise, and drive salon sales to meet targets.
- Ensure salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Assist in other store departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand for shifts, and work evenings/weekends/holidays in a pet hair environment.
