Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Panama City, Florida, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging with pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, this position upholds our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to meet targets, maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, and assist with sick/injured pets. Support other departments as needed and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organizational abilities, communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required; computer proficiency essential.
