Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Pensacola, Florida, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming skills while delivering exceptional salon services, ensuring pet safety, and enhancing pet parent experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and make reminder calls.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales, and upsell merchandise to meet salon targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Assist other store departments as needed and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
