Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets to provide best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. This entry-level role in Peoria, Arizona, offers a pathway to a rewarding career in pet grooming.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist in other departments as needed. Ensure immediate action for sick/injured pets and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organizational abilities, communication, and physical stamina to lift 50+ pounds in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
