Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Philadelphia, PA location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role is perfect for passionate animal lovers eager to learn industry-best grooming techniques through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. Uphold our vision of exceptional pet care while contributing to store cleanliness, pet safety, and outstanding pet parent experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon sanitation, promote sales to hit targets, and assist other departments as needed. Ensure immediate action for sick/injured pets and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wet conditions.
