Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Phoenix, Arizona, you'll receive hands-on training from our expert Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming skills while delivering exceptional salon services under supervision. Uphold our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and outstanding pet parent experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and promote salon sales/merchandise.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Respond to pet health issues and assist across store departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
