Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe technical skills in grooming while delivering exceptional service to pet parents and ensuring pet safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and make reminder calls.
- Recommend wellness solutions, promote services and merchandise to meet sales goals.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Assist in other departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds in a dynamic environment with pet hair and moderate noise.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a fast-paced environment (experience)
Responsibilities
