Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming skills while delivering exceptional salon services under supervision, ensuring pet safety and outstanding pet parent experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions, following daily maintenance checklists.
• Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and emergency pet responses.
• Collaborate across departments and uphold PetSmart’s vision, policies, and safety protocols.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential, along with computer proficiency.
