Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Plymouth, Minnesota, you'll start your journey in professional pet styling under the guidance of our experienced teams. After completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll deliver exceptional salon services while learning industry-best grooming techniques. This entry-level role emphasizes pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care under supervision.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell services/merchandise.
- Handle salon check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and reminder calls.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and humane conditions in the grooming area.
- Ensure pet safety, responding immediately to health issues and assisting other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our technical exam and Academy training to qualify. Successful candidates demonstrate composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wet conditions.
