Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role launches your grooming career after completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. Under expert supervision, you'll learn best-in-class techniques, deliver exceptional salon services, and ensure pet safety while building customer relationships in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and upsell services/merchandise.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and client records with professionalism.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
- Contribute to sales targets, store operations, and our culture of Belonging.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart Academy training. Seek candidates with strong organization, communication, pet-handling skills, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and depth perception.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and maintain composure under pressure (experience)
