Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Prescott, Arizona, you'll train under experienced Pet Stylists, mastering industry-leading grooming techniques through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Advance to full Pet Stylist upon academy completion.
Key Responsibilities
Core Grooming Duties
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Maintain humane conditions and take action on sick/injured pets.
Customer Engagement
Greet pet parents, manage reservations, conduct check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and recommend wellness solutions. Drive salon sales through merchandise and service promotions.
Salon Operations
Uphold cleanliness via daily maintenance checklists. Assist other departments, follow policies, and contribute to store metrics.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek flexible candidates with strong organization, communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and working in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise environment.
