Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Queen Creek, Arizona, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and pets to deliver best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist in other departments as needed. Take immediate action for sick/injured pets and ensure humane conditions.
Daily Operations
- Handle client records, reminder calls, and reservations.
- Uphold sanitation checklists and end-of-day cleaning.
- Drive salon metrics through merchandise and service sales.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; technical exam may be required. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays essential.
