Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Raleigh, North Carolina, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a skilled Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, ensure humane conditions, and promote sales to hit targets. Assist with sick/injured pets and other store duties as needed.
Daily Operations
- Handle client records, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Uphold safety protocols and react calmly under pressure.
- Team lift heavy pets and maintain a sanitary environment.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, and work in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible schedule for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
