Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, you'll train under experienced Professional Stylists in PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on mastering industry-leading grooming techniques, ensuring pet safety, and delivering exceptional service to pet parents. Advance to Pet Stylist upon successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls while maintaining client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions, merchandise, and services to boost salon sales and meet targets.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning.
- Monitor pet health, take action for sick/injured pets, and assist other store departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
