Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Ideal for passionate animal lovers ready to launch a grooming career in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, ensure salon cleanliness per checklists, and respond to pet health issues. Assist other departments as needed and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply); must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and composure under pressure required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs (team lift over 100 lbs), standing, stooping, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays.
