Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Located in Regina, Saskatchewan, this position offers a pathway to a rewarding career in pet care.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, ensure salon cleanliness, and respond to pet health issues by transporting to vets as needed. Assist other departments and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, sales, organization, communication, and physical ability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Proficiency in computers and composure under pressure required.
