Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's expert grooming teams. After completing our Grooming Academy, you'll provide top-tier salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences. This entry-level position builds foundational skills for a rewarding career in pet grooming.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care while supervised.
• Uphold salon cleanliness and perform daily maintenance per checklists.
• Engage pet parents with consultations, recommendations, and sales to boost salon metrics.
• Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and client records accurately.
• Respond to pet health issues promptly and assist across store departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience is preferred but not required – you'll thrive with our Academy training. Successful candidates demonstrate pet-handling passion, customer service prowess, organizational skills, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in a pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
