Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Roseville, Minnesota, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, recommend wellness solutions, and drive salon sales. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, monitor pet health, and assist across departments while upholding company policies.
Daily Operations
- Conduct check-in/out procedures and reminder calls
- Ensure humane conditions and immediate action for sick/injured pets
- Promote merchandise and services to meet sales targets
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must handle physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a wet, noisy, pet hair-filled environment. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
