Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Round Rock, Texas, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams through our renowned Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on mastering industry-leading grooming techniques while delivering exceptional salon services under supervision. Uphold our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and outstanding pet parent experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Under guidance, execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, reservations, and sales to hit targets. Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, monitor pet health, and assist across store departments as needed. Ensure humane conditions and immediate action for sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Proficiency in computers and flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays required. Passion for pets and customer service essential.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in pet hair environment (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform supervised bath, brush, grooming, nail trims, and sanitary services
- Recommend health and wellness solutions to pet parents
- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-in/out, and rebooking
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety standards
- Promote salon sales, merchandise, and services to meet targets
- Assist in other store departments and follow company policies
