Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Saint Louis, Missouri, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to professional grooming certification.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and promote sales to meet targets. Maintain salon cleanliness, ensure humane pet conditions, and respond immediately to sick or injured pets. Assist other store departments as needed while following all company policies.

Daily Impact

Build lasting relationships with pet families, recommend wellness solutions, and contribute to a clean, safe grooming environment.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled setting. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
