Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Saint Louis, Missouri, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to professional grooming expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
- Develop safe technical skills meeting PetSmart's standards.
- Drive salon sales by recommending services and merchandise.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and client communications.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and respond to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; PetSmart Academy completion required. Successful candidates demonstrate strong communication, organization, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical capability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Computer proficiency and composure under pressure are essential.
