Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Salem, New Hampshire, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, monitor pet health, and drive sales through service promotions. Flexibly assist other departments while upholding company policies.
Experience & Skills
PetSmart prioritizes successful completion of our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Prior grooming experience is preferred (technical exam may apply). You need proficiency in computer applications, composure under pressure, flexible availability (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physically, expect standing, lifting up to 50 lbs (team lifts over 100 lbs), and working in moderate-noise, pet-hair/wet conditions.
