Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while contributing to store cleanliness and sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
• Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, identify sick/injured pets, and assist across departments as needed.
• Uphold company policies, pet safety, and positive customer interactions in person and via phone.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have prior grooming experience (technical exam may apply), strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and composure under pressure. Proficiency in computers, excellent communication, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays required. Complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs, standing, and working in a pet hair-filled environment.
