Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Salt Lake City, Utah location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while learning industry-leading grooming techniques. This entry-level role emphasizes pet safety, customer satisfaction, and store cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Recommend wellness solutions and merchandise to boost sales. Ensure salon sanitation, identify sick/injured pets for vet transport, and assist other departments. Uphold company policies and participate in our culture of recognition.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair.
