Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services under supervision, build technical skills, and ensure positive pet parent experiences while upholding our vision of pet safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions, performing daily maintenance and end-of-day checklists.
• Ensure pet safety by identifying issues and coordinating vet transport if needed.
• Assist in other store departments and participate in our Belonging and Recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Successful candidates demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet hair environment.
