Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Schaumburg, Illinois location, you'll receive hands-on training from industry-leading Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming skills while delivering exceptional salon services under supervision. Uphold our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and outstanding pet parent experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
- Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, monitor pet health, and ensure humane conditions.
- Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and rebookings.
- Assist across departments and respond swiftly to pet emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek flexible team players with strong communication, organization, computer skills, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
