Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver top-tier salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a certified Pet Stylist.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, ensure pet safety, promote sales, and assist in other departments as needed. Take action on sick/injured pets and follow all company policies.

Daily Tasks Include:

• Client consultations and reservation management
• Salon maintenance and end-of-day cleaning
• Sales promotion to meet targets
• Appointment reminder calls and record-keeping

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy for certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must handle physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working in a pet hair environment. Flexible schedule for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
