Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams through our renowned Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on mastering industry-leading grooming techniques while delivering exceptional service to pet parents. Uphold our vision of pet safety, salon excellence, and customer satisfaction in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and promote services to drive salon sales. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, ensure humane pet conditions, and respond swiftly to any pet health issues. Collaborate across departments and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, and proficiency in computer applications. Strong communication, organizational abilities, and flexibility for evenings/weekends required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in a pet hair-filled environment.
