Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Spokane, Washington, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Ideal for animal lovers eager to launch a career in pet care.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, recommend wellness solutions, and drive salon sales. Maintain impeccable cleanliness, monitor pet health, and assist across store departments while upholding company policies.

Daily Tasks Include:

• Performing supervised grooming services
• Handling check-ins, check-outs, and client communications
• Promoting merchandise and rebooking services
• Ensuring salon sanitation and pet welfare

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. You need strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential, plus proficiency in computer applications.
