Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Spring Hill, Tennessee location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive experiences. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, it's perfect for passionate animal lovers ready to build a career in pet care.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales of merchandise and services, uphold salon cleanliness, ensure pet safety, and assist in emergencies or other departments as needed.
Daily Operations
- Develop safe technical grooming skills meeting company expectations.
- Recommend wellness solutions based on pet needs.
- Follow all policies for a clean, humane grooming environment.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends required. Physically demanding role: lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, work in wet/noisy conditions with pet hair. Proficiency in computers and composure under pressure essential.
